Google translator script for blogger that I put in the upper middle column of the page works well now, after experiencing several failed attempts, and spent a few hours surfing the net with help of Google to find answers. It was made based on the script I found at Mani's blog.
What I really like about the script is that it contains no flags. It's pure text, and is very simple to make. Thanks again to Mani for the simple tips.
What you need to do is just copy the script below, then go to your Template, click "Add a Page Element", on HTML/JavaScript click "ADD TO BLOG", paste the script, and change all "http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" to your blog address. Save. That's it.
Here's the script:
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Car&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Arabic</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Czh&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Chinese</a>
•
<a target="_blank" href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cfr&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
French</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cde&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
German</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cit&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Italian</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cja&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Japanese</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cko&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Korean</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cpt&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Portuguese</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Cru&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Russian</a>
•
<a href="http://google.com/translate?langpair=en%7Ces&u=http://aroengbinang.blogspot.com" target="_blank">
Spanish</a>
Now, hopefully, people from different nationalities can read your blog in their own languages. The translation may not be perfect, still it's better than no translation at all.
Update:
There's another script created by Alex that is much better than the above one, since Alex's script will translate whatever page that the visitor is reading, whilst the above script will always go to the main page.
Alex's script is much more complex, but what you need to do is just copy and paste from his script, without any changes.
I've changed the above script in my blog with Alex's script, with a few minor adjustments. Thanks Alex for the great job!
