There are several must see places located in Central Jakarta, parts of it are old buildings from colonial era used for museums and government offices. Some of those places are to be visited to be able to claim that one has ever been in Jakarta. Central Jakarta is where the Presidential Palace resides, also the National Monument and the National Museum.

St. Emmanuel's Church (GPIB Gereja Immanuel) is a Protestant church that is considered one of the oldest churches in Jakarta. Groundbreaking‎ was on ‎24 August 1835 and its use was formalized on 24 August 1839.
